The FOA is an international non-profit educational association that is chartered to promote professionalism in fiber optics through education, certification and standards. FOA is also an internationally recognized certifying body for fiber optic technicians.
Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) - is the primary FOA certification for all fiber optic technicians among others. CFOTs have a broad knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) in fiber optics that can be applied to almost any job - design, installation, operation ¨C and for almost any application using fiber optic communications.
The training is open to students from all backgrounds. These courses are intended for;
Prime Trainings and Services is the first of its kind offering Fiber Optic Certification program in the whole of Central Africa and environs. We are based in Cameroon with skills pulled from a wide range of international professionals. We render quality services by ensuring we train the best and manage your problems adequately. We provide education and hands on training to students, professionals and any interested parties in fiber optic theory and optical components that are commonly used in telecommunication industry.
This covers an Overview of fiber optic applications and installations, various communications systems utilizing fiber optics, components, standard installation, splicing, finishing and testing with hands on training.
This covers fiber optics and how it is used in outside plants, how is it being used in communication, how it transmits signals, good components used in transmitting signals, not forgetting how it is spliced, terminated and tested. You shall equally gain knowledge on designing the network and how they are installed in plants.
Classroom sessions in all types of splicing, including fusion and mechanical splicing; hands-on training in appropriate splicing types including placement of the splice into a splice tray and closure, interpretation of splice loss on OTDR traces instructor verification of achievement of advanced skills in splicing this will include 70% practical work.
Gain knowledge on all that is needed to be tested in fiber optics, how it is tested and what equipment to use in testing with simulation of various scenarios, how will the test affect networks, good standards and ethics of testing and common situations you will find in the field.
Defining communications system needs, how to create a plan to install the project, what paperwork and documentation will be needed for the project, choosing components appropriate for the communications systems, how the proposed routing of the cable plant affects component choice and installation
